About the Author
Bradley was born in South Africa, and over time developed an interest in what motivated his great-grandfather to emigrate from his home in Wales in 1914 to South Africa. From 2004 Bradley spent 3 years in the UK, and it was during that time that he visited Milford Haven, birthplace of his great-grandfather. Armed with only an address from his grandfather which was supposed to be the birthplace of his great-grandfather and a sprinkling of family history enthusiasm he headed off one weekend to the south-west corner of Wales. A series of amazing coincidences led him to meet a family member, who was a three-time mayor of Milford Haven, and learn the story of the Bricknell legacy. That started the journey of research and discovery that resulted in him gathering the information that details the amazing story of emigrants who risked all in order to find a better life for their families in some remote part of the African continent. Bradley has 5 children and a wife who shares his fascination with family history. He has a Ph.D. in the field of Chemisry.

With the war reduced to a single front, the Nazis have time to rebuild their shattered air force, giving Rommel the advantage he needs to press forward and capture critical Allied oil reserves. As the Desert Fox races to initiate a second blitzkrieg, American forces move to head him off before he can get to Antwerp, setting up a climactic final battle. The first-time authors have drawn on their background in war games to bring the tactical details to life (Niles designed the video game for Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising), but as a novel this book has several notable problems. Characters are introduced in rapid succession, with points of view ranging from foot soldiers to fighter pilots to generals, but many of the perspectives seem only marginally necessary. Moreover, the fast-paced action slows considerably once Himmler takes over and Rommel recovers, and for all the political machinations, the outcome of the war remains somewhat conservatively imagined. Dawn M. McBride is a professor of psychology at Illinois State University, where she has taught research methods since 1998. Her research interests include automatic forms of memory, false memory, prospective memory, and forgetting. In addition to research methods, she teaches courses in introductory psychology, cognition and learning, and human memory, and a graduate course in experimental design. She is a recipient of the Illinois State University Teaching Initiative Award and the ISU SPA/Psi Chi Jim Johnson Award for commitment to undergraduate mentorship, involvement, and achievement. Her nonacademic interests include spending time with her family, traveling, watching Philadelphia sports teams (her place of birth), and reading British murder mysteries. She earned her PhD in cognitive psychology from the University of California, Irvine, and her BA from the University of California, Los Angeles.

J. Cooper Cutting (PhD, cognitive psychology, University of Illinois) is an associate professor of psychology and associate chair at Illinois State University. His research interests are in psycholinguistics, primarily with a focus on the production of language. He teaches research methods in psychology regularly and supervises undergraduate research in his laboratory.
